There are FIVE sections based on English Chess Federation Rapidplay grades;

- Open to All (the strongest section)
- Under 170 Major
- Under 145 Minor
- Under 120 Amateur
- Under 105 Improvers

There are six rounds and all players (usually 80-100 participants) play in all rounds. It is not a knock-out.
If you turn up before11.30am you can still enter, and claim a half point bye for the game you missed. There are refreshments all day.
